Web foundations is the starting point for all Midland University Code Academy students. This course is designed for those who need the fundamentals for code. This is ideal for individuals who intend to pursue a career as a developer, as well as those who intend to work closely with developers. This might include entrepreneurs, MBA students, project managers, graphic designers, or marketing professionals.

 

Outcomes

Build a WordPress website.

In this course, we will point towards teaching you how to build and customize a WordPress theme. Nearly 26% of the web runs on WordPress, so we think it’s a great place to start. Building WordPress websites is the ultimate outcome of this course. To get there, we’ll teach you to be proficient in HTML and CSS, the key languages needed to build on the web. We’ll also help you understand the foundations of JavaScript and Bootstrap. Other outcomes will include understanding of how to commit code to Github, the fundamentals of user interface design, user experience skills, and working within a project team.

Courses meet in evenings from 6pm to 9pm at the Omaha campus. The next course launches Tuesday, September 5th. The application deadline for this fall course is August 15th. We have a limited number of $500 scholarships available for students who attend an open house.
