Code Academy
The Midland University Code Academy is now offered in-person and online.
Choose from a 12-week, full-time, immersive program that meets at our Omaha campus or a 25-week, part-time, online program with live instruction. You choose the path that works best for you.
These programs teach students the basics of web development, focusing on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how to apply the methodology behind Agile project management.
From Web Novice to Career Ready
Web development is an in-demand skill in a market that is increasingly difficult to break into. In the Midland Code Academy, we’ll make sure that you’re fully prepared to network your way into an interview, explain your technical expertise, and take on any programming challenge.

Learning Environment
Midland’s Immersive Code Academy is a full-time program that uses a stacked learning model to help students become career ready in just 12 weeks.
Midland’s Online Code Academy is our option for those whose schedules don’t align with our full-time program. New to Midland, this option will allow our students to complete Code Academy with a more flexible schedule.
Learn MoreTo be a programmer is to be a lifelong learner. The rapid pace of technological change means you constantly have to be learning new concepts, languages, and techniques. We’ll teach you hard skills, like HTML, CSS and Javascript, but we’ll also help you understand how to apply and extend your knowledge to new domains. We want to prepare you for the unknown future challenges you’re sure to experience in your new career.
Midland’s Code Academy welcomes three cohorts a year.Â
Our full-time, immersive path meets for 12 weeks, Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Â
Our part-time, online path meets for 25 weeks, Monday-Thursday, from 5:30-9 p.m. where 1-to-1 live access with an experienced instructor is provided.
Learning to code is like learning a new language, and the best way to learn a language is full immersion. You’ll join your classmates every day to dive deep into new concepts, overcome new challenges and work closely with experienced instructors to create your next project.
Requirements
Our focus is on making you a career-ready coder, meaning no previous coding or programming experience is required to join the Code Academy. We’ll start off with the foundations, and build the skills that prepare you for work as a junior developer once your program is complete.
Coding 101
To be accepted into the Code Academy, you will need to complete a Coding 101 workshop. This can be achieved in person at one of our upcoming events.
This workshop will take approximately 3-4 hours to complete and will establish some fundamental skills that allow all Code Academy students to begin at a similar level. To RSVP for Coding 101, please see the list of upcoming events.
Technical Requirements
You can learn to code on any laptop, and we want you to use a device that you’re comfortable with. If you don’t have a laptop today, we’ll provide a new MacBook Air to you upon your enrollment in the Code Academy. If you already have a laptop you would prefer to use, additional scholarship support will be available in place of this device.
Code Academy Partners
Midland Code Academy is proud to partner with local businesses to provide our students with diverse academic and professional experiences throughout the program and beyond. As a Midland Code Academy student, you would have access to work with all our partners.
